Protek Wood Preserver ++ is an effective wood preservative used for pre-treatment of non-resistant wood in outdoor areas. Must be overcoated with a top coat finish.
Please note: This product is the new formulation that replaces the old 'Protek Wood Preserver Plus', which was for commercial use only. This product is not suitable for use on interior wood.
All outside wood, which is not in direct contact to soil or surface water can be treated with Protek Wood Preserver ++. This includes façades, windows (inner and outer parts), exterior doors (inner and outer parts), carports, shutters and balcony railings etc.
Please Note: This product should not be used in indoor living spaces apart from external windows and doors. This product dries clear.
The wood surface to be treated must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.
Always do a test area to assess product suitability before starting any project. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
Wood should be frost free when treated. Do not apply in damp conditions or if rain is imminent. Protek Wood Preserver Plus is a ready-to-use product and does not need to be diluted. The temperature of the wood and product should not be below 10°C or above 30°C.
For professional use, this product can be applied by dipping (or flow coating) in special facilities and equipment, or by spraying in closed devices. For regular DIY use, apply the product with a synthetic brush.
Drying time: 6 hours under normal conditions (20°C / 65% rel. humidity). Low temperatures, increased humidity and ingredients of some wood types may increase drying time.
Clean tools immediately after use with warm water, subsequently rinse with clear water or use a commercial brush cleaner.
Once fully dry, timber treated with Protek Wood Preserver ++ must be coated with a suitable top coat, such as Protek Stable Coat, Protek Royal Exterior Finish or Protek Royal Exterior Stain. Alternatively, this product can be over-coated with most other top coat products, however always carry out a test area to assess product compatibility and adhesion.
