Cleaning

The Woodleys Decking Applicator Pad can be cleaned but the method is dependent on the type of product used. Most decking treatments are either water-based or solvent-based.

Water-based decking products can be cleaned off immediately after use using warm soapy water, then rinsed thoroughly. Solvent-based decking products can be cleaned off immediately after use with white spirit, taking care to ensure that none of the decking oil, white spirit or byproduct is released into drains or watercourses.

Consider how many pads you might need

We bought a few pads as we have a large area to cover (75 sq metres). Unfortunately we have a few decking planks with splinters in the edges and these got caught up in the pads. This meant we had to stop occasionally to remove them. It's worth getting several pads if you have a medium to large area to coat.

Good

I bought 3 extra pads. The first one I threw away as I used it to apply paint/stain remover. Due to the weight of this product (very thick and heavy) I put plastic clips to keep the pad on. The next pads I used were for deck oil and I didn't have to do this for the oil. After use I have washed the oil pads and they are ready to be used again.

Made the job easy and quick

Bought the case last year and bought additional pads to apply Osmo oil to my deck. Made the job really easy and quick. Applicator only needs very little oil which helps with giving an even coat and make the oil last longer. Would recommend.
