Ronseal Anti-bacterial Worktop Oil protects solid wood worktops and other food preparation surfaces from liquid spillages and the day to day wear and tear of a busy kitchen (though it may be used on work tops other than kitchen worktops).
Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from any surface contaminates.
Always do a small test area before beginning any project to check suitability and compatibility. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Antibacterial Worktop Oil should be at room temperature prior to application. Shake tin thoroughly for at least one minute before use.
Oiled surfaces should be wiped with a clean, dry (or damp) lint-free cloth to remove water and other liquid spillages. Stubborn stains can be cleaned with a dedicated wooden worktop cleaner.
Please Note: Avoid using household cleaners and detergents where possible as these may degrade the finish more quickly, resulting in increased maintenance periods.
For deep penetrating stains, scuffs and minor scratches, rub back the affected area with fine grit sandpaper or a scotch pad, then re-apply a localised coat of Ronseal Antibacterial Worktop Oil for a seamless repair.
To maintain the waterproof and anti-bacterial protection, we recommend re-oiling wooden worktops with one coat of worktop oil twice a year or more frequently if required. The worktop needs a maintenance coat when water on the worktop surface smudges instead of forming beads of water or when the worktop has lost its sheen.
Q. What are the ingredients that make this anti-bacterial?
A. The basis of this product is a mineral oil, with additional ingredients of biocide and silver to offer the stated protection.
