Repair Care DRY SEAL MP is a UV and moisture resistant sealant for glazing and bedding-in timber and metal windows, and glazing beads. A multipurpose, durable alternative to linseed oil putty. Its permanent elastic properties means it curves very quickly and is ideal for double-glazing, such as slim-line units, laminated and acoustic glass. It can also be used to fill in nail and screw holes, and can be painted and stained after 2 hours.
Ensure that areas to be filled are clean, dry and free from surface dust, loose dirt or other contaminants.
Always do a small test area before starting any project to assess adhesion and end result. Follow the manufacturers instructions on the container at all times.
Optimum application is achieved between 5°C and 40°C with good air movement and ventilation.
Please Note: Always wear suitable Protective clothing and Repair Care EASY.Q Disposable Nitrile Gloves.
Once cured, the area can be finished within one month using the chosen paint or stain. If finishing at a later date, lightly sand the DRY SEAL surface beforehand.
As long as the DRY SEAL MP was applied in dry weather, it should not be affected by rain once it has been applied. Avoid wet weather where possible until it has completely dried.
DRY SEAL MP has been tested on and is compatible with a variety of glazing including acoustic, laminated, sealed double-glazing, Slimlite double glazing, plate, solar reflective and self-cleaning glass. It can also be used with polycarbonate glazing.
We would not recommend the Repair Care Dry Seal MP for this use. Consider OB1 Multi-Surface Construction Sealant and Adhesive instead.
Although the DRY SEAL MP has UV resistance, meaning it can be left unpainted, painting will help protect against surface pollution.
