Overview

Applying Nitrocellulose Lacquer has never been easier than with these handy Morrells Nitrocellulose Lacquer Sprays.

Offering a convenient way of applying a solvent-based spray lacquer without the need for a dedicated spray system, this product is perfect for on-site work or finishing small projects such as musical instruments, including guitars and drums.

Please Note: Morrells Nitrocellulose Lacquer Spray is not recommended for projects larger than half a square metre on any one area.

Preparation

Ensure the surface to be sprayed is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, polish or any other surface contaminants.

If a colour change is required, apply desired number of coats of Morrells Light Fast Wood Stain and allow to dry thoroughly.

Application

Always do a small test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the can at all times.

Shake can for at least 2 minutes before use
Spray several thin coats from a distance of 25-30cm
Keep the can moving from side to side at all times
Allow to dry for 20 minutes before sanding and application of further coats

Drying time will vary according to the type of finish, film thickness and ambient temperature.

Excellent product, easy to use

Bought, Morrells Nitrocellulose Lacquer Spray High Gloss to use on my Orville Les Paul. The maple top was a very dark Tobacco Burst which I sanded off then stained to a Lemon Drop. I then gave it five or six light coats of the Nitrocellulose (each of which dried extremely quickly) and to finish off a very light rub down with some 800 grit, finally buffed it up. Saved loads of cash, got exactly the finish I wanted and it was no problem at all, anyone can do it.
