Liberon Hard Wax Oil

Liberon Hard Wax Oil gives optimum protection to interior wooden flooring and furniture. It forms a highly durable barrier on softwoods and hardwoods, protecting them against water ingress, stains, heat, dirt and general wear and tear.

It is especially suited to humid environments, such as kitchens and bathrooms, but can be used throughout the home and can be applied to bare or previously oiled wood.

Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.

Varnished, painted or waxed wood

1. Any previous finishes must be removed and the surface stripped back to bare wood
2. Remove any existing wax finishes with Woodleys Wax and Polish Remover
3. Any previous varnishes can be removed with a suitable paint stripper or varnish remover
4. Fill any gaps or imperfections in the wood with the appropriate Liberon wood filler
5. Lightly sand the wood to prepare the surface for the oil
6. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner or soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth

Bare and previously oiled wood

1. Bare or previously oiled surfaces should be sanded lightly with 240 grit paper
2. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner or soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth prior to oiling

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

Do not apply Liberon Hard Wax Oil in temperatures below 12°C. Drying time may be increased in cooler conditions.

1. Stir the contents of the tin thoroughly before and periodically during use
2. Apply the first coat thinly with a natural bristle brush or microfibre roller
3. Allow to dry for 8 hours between coats
4. Sand with 240 grit paper, removing any sanding dust
5. Apply a 2nd coat in the same manner as the first
6. Leave to dry for 24 hours

Please Note: Avoid allowing water to sit on the surface of the treated wood during the immediate 3 weeks after application. This will give the product time to fully cure.

Regular Cleaning

Oiled wooden surfaces can be cleaned with a damp, lint-free cloth or mop on a regular basis using a dedicated, pH balanced wood cleaner for oiled floors, if required. Never soak wood floors or use harsh household detergents or cleaners as these can degrade or damage the finish.

Repair

If a small area becomes worn, sand the affected area lightly with 240 grit paper, removing all sanding dust. Then apply a fresh coat of Liberon Hard Wax Oil to the area and allow 24 hours to fully dry.
