Dulux Walls and Ceilings Matt Paint is a water-based emulsion that is perfect for interior walls and ceilings. It is available in a wide range of attractive colours and dries to a durable, modern matt finish.
For best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Use only in well ventilated areas.
For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient paint for each project including enough for touch-in at a later time.
To maintain the finish, simply apply a fresh coat of Dulux Matt paint, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
We work directly with Dulux and stock the most popular choices for our customers. If you have a colour in mind which isn't listed on our website, give us a call on 01303 213838 and we can get this sent out for you. Simply make sure you have to hand the colour, quantity and exact product that you would like.
This paint is not suitable for use on metal. We would instead suggest looking at XXX instead which would be much better suited for this project.
If the substrate is previously painted then yes. Otherwise, Dulux do not recommend this paint on woodwork.
For brush or roller application, this paint is not intended to be diluted. It is ready for use straight from the tin. It can be diluted if spraying but this would differ depending on the type of machine used.
The caps are not designed to be taken off and put back together again. We would advise purchasing a larger size tin along with a brush or several sample sizes to complete your project.
While Rock Salt has some blue and green tones, Polished Pebble is a neutral colour which can often appear slightly lighter depending on the type of colour light (kelvin) is used in the room. The light reflectance is slightly more on Rock Salt, making it a great choice for smaller spaces.
For something a bit tougher on surfaces in need of regular cleaning we would recommend trying Dulux Easycare Washable and Tough Matt instead.
A matt black ceiling in the kitchen can look striking, but it may not be the best choice for durability in a high-humidity, high-smoke environment. Regular matt paints are generally more porous and can be prone to trapping moisture, grease, and smoke residue, which can lead to peeling, staining, or discoloration over time.
If you go with a matt black paint which is specifically formulated for high-moisture areas, you should be able to achieve your stylish look without the paint peeling or discolouring prematurely. Take a look at Crown Easyclean Kitchen Matt Emulsion.
As this covers up to 14m² per litre, a 30ml will cover approx. 0.2m² for two coats.
