Overview
Ciranova Titan Hardwax Oil is an innovative oil that is suitable for finishing wooden floors and furniture. It provides good filing, natural protection and provides the wood with excellent chemical and mechanical resistance. The hardwax oil has a long open time, which makes it highly suitable for application with a roller.
Preparation
Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.
- Make sure that all old finish coats are completely removed and the wood is free from dust and other dirt
- Sanding using the correct method, deep sanding with 60-80-100 grit then sanding with 100 grit
- Can be used on sanded, planed and brushed wood
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
- Stir and shake well before and during use
- Apply using a good qulity roller, a buffing machine can be used for the 1st coat
- For the final topcoat it is recommended for roller application only
Please Note: Hardwood like oak require 2 layers. Multiple layers can be applied for softwood. For exotic wood types, the Titan hardwax oil should be tested beforehand.
Dry Time
- Recoatable: 8 hours
- Lightly walkable: 24 hours
- Fully cured: 10 days
Aftercare
For regular maintenance it is recommended to use Ciranova Flooring Soap. For periodic maintenance use Ciranova Maintenance Oil or first use Ciranova Intensive Cleaner in case of heavy dirt. The Titan hardwax oil is only fully hardened after 7 days. During this period, the wood cannot be treated with water or maintenance products.
