Blanchon Universal Maintenance Oil is suitable for the maintenance of parquet and other types of previously oiled wood flooring. Perfect for the upkeep and maintenance of floors previously treated with hardwax oils such as Blanchon Hard Wax Oil, Blanchon Hard Wax Oil Tints. Can also be used on most other floor oils.
Floors to be treated should be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surface contaminants.
Please note: Floors with heavy wear and damage should be repaired using the original floor oil or Hard Wax Oil. This product should not be used on freshly oiled floors. Allow a minimun of 14 days for Hard Wax Oils to fully cure before applying Blanchon Universal Maintenance Oil.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Blanchon Universal Maintenance Oil should be applied when oiled floors start to show signs of wear and tear such as dull patches and minor surface scratches.
Do not apply if the temperature is below 12°C and use only in well ventilated areas. Keep any aquariums and plants away from the environment where the product is being applied. This product is ready to use. Do not dilute.
Please note: This oil dries very quickly, it is therefore important to remove any excess surface oil as you go, so as not to spoil the finish.
Clean applicators immediately after use with water. Wring out cloths and wipe tools thoroughly after application.
Take reasonable precautions during the first hour following application:
Floors can be regularly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and using a dampened, lint-free cloth or microfibre mop with Blanchon Natural Soap or Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner. Do not use household detergents or bleaches as these will degrade the finish.
Allow at least 7 days after the finishing coat has dried before cleaning the floor for the first time.
If floors begin to look worn or tired over time, simply apply a fresh coat of Blanchon Universal Maintenance Oil, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
Lightly sand the damaged area using fine-grade sandpaper before applying 1 or 2 thin coats of Maintenance Oil with a clean, lint-free cotton cloth.
