Blanchon Maintenance Oil is ideal for the maintenance of parquet and other types of previously oiled wood flooring. Perfect for the upkeep and maintenance of floors previously treated with a 'natural' oil that is designed to retain the natural appearance of untreated, light coloured or non stained wood, white for white-oiled wood floors (or light grey), and oak for tropical woods or dark stained oiled wood floors. Blanchon Maintenance Oil is fast drying, dust, dirt and moisture resistant and doesn't require any buffing.
Floors to be treated should be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surfaces contaminants.
Please note: Floors with heavy wear and damage should be repaired using the original floor oil or Hard Wax Oil. This product should not be used on freshly oiled floors. Allow a minimum of 14 days for Hard Wax Oils to fully cure before applying Blanchon Maintenance Oil.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Blanchon Maintenance Oil should be applied when oiled floors start to show signs of wear and tear such as dull patches and minor surface scratches.
Do not apply if the temperature is below 12°C and use only in well ventilated areas. Keep any aquariums and plants away from the environment where the product is being applied. This product is ready to use. Do not dilute. Shake well before and during use.
Clean applicators immediately after use with a suitable thinner or brush cleaner. Wring out cloths and wipe tools thoroughly after application. Application cloths and rags should be soaked in water and stored in an air tight glass jar to avoid the risk of combustion.
Take reasonable precautions during the first hour following application:
Floors can be regularly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and using a dampened, lint-free cloth or microfibre mop with Blanchon Natural Soap or Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner. Do not use household detergents or bleaches as these will degrade the finish.
If floors begin to look worn or tired over time, simply apply a fresh coat of Blanchon Maintenance Oil, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
Lightly sand the damaged area using fine-grade sandpaper before applying 1 or 2 thin coats of Maintenance Oil with a clean, lint-free cotton cloth.
