Sandtex 10 Year Exterior Satin Paint

Sandtex 10 year exterior satin paint is tough, long lasting and waterproof, giving a strong defence against the elements throughout the year. By producing a Satin finish it can provide an attractive and smart appearance that will compliment the final results and is suitable for both wood and metal surfaces.

Before applying Sandtex 10 year exterior satin paint, the surface needs to be clean and smooth. Remove any old peeling paint or rust, guaranteeing that the surface is smooth. If any cleaning products are used, then ensure that the project area is thoroughly dry before application.

• If the area needs repairing then fill any cracks or gaps with a suitable product for the project. Also, if the area has any mould, then Sandtex Fungicidal Wash can remove the mould and reduce the amount of staining residue left behind
• Consider using a primer to help the paint adhere to the surface, with Sandtex 10 Year Primer Undercoat being an excellent choice
• Also ensure you have the right tools for the project, such as ProDec Premier Synthetic Brush, cleaners and sanding tools available in our tools and accessories section

Always do a test area before starting any project to check suitability and compatibility.

• Ensure that the paint is well mixed beforehand by stirring the paint and always follow the manufacturer's instructions
• Sandtex 10 year exterior satin paint can be applied by brush
• Ensure the brush strokes are producing an even covering in all directions
• Allow 16 hours for the paint to dry between coats
• Apply a second coat to produce a solid and opaque finish
• For cleaning the equipment, please use a suitable brush cleaner or white spirit

To keep the painted finish in good repair, it can be necessary to maintain the area.

• Wash the painted area regularly with soap and water
• If organic growth becomes an issue, consider using Sandtex Fungicidal Wash

This product can be applied over a solvent-based primer providing the primer is wax free and it has fully cured (at least 72 hours). We recommend using Sandtex 10 Year Primer Undercoat over any other as it is specifically designed to work well under this paint, aiding adhesion.
