Rustins Danish Oil is the original Danish Oil. It's ideal for all interior and exterior timber, bringing out the natural beauty of the wood. Gives a natural open grained, soft lustre finish. Perfect for turned woodwork.
It differs from Teak Oil in that it contains special ingredients, which prevent it from drying to a gloss.
An interesting fact about Danish Oil is that every producer of Danish Oil has their own unique blend, meaning that no two oils are the same!
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times. Stir / shake Rustins Danish Oil well before use or product will dry to a gloss finish.
Danish Oil should be applied at a room temperature of between 15°C - 25°C. Do not apply below 5°C.
Surfaces finished with Rustins Danish Oil can be periodically re-coated if the surface becomes tired looking, dry or scuffed. Wipe surfaces before re-oiling with a lint-free cloth or rag slightly dampened with White Spirit.
This Danish Oil has a soft lustre, similar to a satin sheen. Every brand of Danish oil has their own formula, some are matt, and some are gloss.
Rustins Danish Oil is a solvent-based oil. Your tools which will need to be cleaned using Barrettine White Spirit or Barrettine Low Odour White Spirit.
Unfortunately not but you can always try using LickTools Precision Decorators Tape. Simply tear off a piece that's 8 or 9 inches long and stick it to the edge of the rim. Make sure it extends an inch or two past the rim of the can then fold the resulting tabs under, which will create a bit of a spout.
