Morrells Induro Sport Floor Varnish

Morrells Induro Sport Floor Varnish is a two-component, water-based heavy duty floor lacquer, perfect for dance halls, sports courts and other commercial, high-traffic areas. It is based on externally cross-linking, 100% polyurethane technology, offering enhanced performance attributes, compared to single component lacquer systems.

Although the Induro Sport Floor Varnish is primarily for sports flooring, it can also be used on a number of different softwood and hardwood floors, suitable for both domestic and a wide range of commercial or institutional applications that have high volumes of foot traffic.

Please note: this product is not suitable for areas in regular contact with moisture, such as bathrooms.

Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free of any dust, dirt or other surface contaminants.

1. All previous finishes must be completely removed and surfaces sanded back to bare wood before application
2. It is recommended that new, bare wood is wiped down with methylated spirit to clean and degrease
3. Fill any gaps or holes in the wood surface with Morrells Two-Part Coloured Wood Fillers
4. If a colour change is required, flooring can be stained with Morrells Light Fast Wood Stain
5. For improved adhesion and durability, surfaces to be lacquered can be first primed with Morrells Induro General Purpose Sealer. Induro GP Sealer should not be sanded before application of Induro Sport Floor Varnish

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

1. Apply with a synthetic bristle brush, short-pile roller or floor applicator, in the direction of the wood grain
2. When applying over a water-based stain, it is advisable to use a minimal strokes to avoid dislodging the the stain on the first coat
3. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours before re-coating
4. Apply 3-4 coats of Morrells Induro Sport Lacquer, making sure to de-nib the wood surface between coats
5. Take care to remove all traces of sanding dust before the next coat and only when the previous coat has fully dried
6. Allow 24 hours before light traffic on the newly treated surface, 3 days before moving equipment or furniture across the surface and 5 days before replenishing any floor mats or carpet

Please note: Once the catalyst has been mixed with the lacquer, it has a usable open time of around 5 hours. It is recommended that only the amount required for each coat is mixed at any time to avoid product wastage.

Sweep or vacuum floors treated with Morrells Induro Sport Floor Varnish with a hard floor attachment as frequently as possible and as required, use a lightly dampened mop on the surface. Wet cleaning and vacuuming should be avoided for 7 days after application to ensure the lacquer has fully cured.
