Liberon Extreme Decking Paint is an advanced 2-in-1 formulation designed specifically to give old and worn decking a new lease of life. It both colours and protects decking boards with an opaque, anti-slip, matt finish.
Please note:
Important note regarding the 'Gun metal grey' colour variation: It has been reported by some of our customers that the 'gun metal grey' version of this product is more brown than grey. This is due to the heavier pigments that make the 'grey' colour sinking to the bottom of the tin and forming a sediment on the base of the tin. It is vitally important that this product is stirred thoroughly for several minutes, with a suitable paint stirrer, to ensure that all of the colour pigments are evenly dispersed within the paint before use. This is of course required for all colours within this range.
Ensure the wood to be painted is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surface contaminants.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Ideal application conditions are between 12°C and 25°C in dry weather. Do not apply Garden ColourCare Decking Paint in strong winds or when bad weather is forecast. Stir the product thoroughly before and periodically during use with a mixer or wide stick, working around the bottom of the tin. This is to ensure that any of the heavier pigments and ingredients of the paint are thoroughly mixed with the other ingredients in the tin. This will help to ensure a more consistent finish across the project.
Please note: To get the 5 Year Guarantee, this product must be applied in accordance with the manufacturers 'preparation' and 'application' instructions on the tin, and on surfaces not subject to capillary rise. The guarantee is limited to refunding of the product (presentation of the receipt and the tin is required) and concerns only the aspect of the paint.
Decked areas can be swept on a regular basis to remove loose dirt and debris.
If there are any signs of heavy wear or surface damage, simply apply a fresh coat of Liberon Garden ColourCare Decking Paint, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
Woods with little absorption (Iroko, Wenge, Larch, etc.) require a regular application of a maintenance coat.
When applying further coats of Extreme Decking Paint, wash the existing timber with a pressure washer and remove any foliage or moss and excess oil stains pior to painting.
