Overview
Liberon Black Patinating Wax creates striking effects on all types of material such as metal, wood and plaster. It is ideal for ageing modern furniture and disguising repairs to old and new furniture. It can also be used for adding a coloured finish or highlighting areas on finished pieces such as carvings.
Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from any previous finishing material.
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
- Wipe wax onto the surface with a lint-free cloth or Liberon Furniture Brush
- Allow to dry for 2-3 minutes
- Remove as much or as little of the excess as you wish with a clean lint-free cloth or Liberon Ultra Fine (0000) Steel Wool
- To use the wax as a coloured finish on bare wood, work a thin coat into the wood with Ultra Fine Steel Wool (0000), allow to become touch dry and buff
- To remove large areas of Liberon Black Patinating Wax, use Liberon Liquid Wax Polish Black Bison Neutral and buff
