Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Natural is designed to better retain the natural, untreated appearance of wood whilst offering a high degree of protection. Made from a blend of natural vegetable oils and waxes it dries to a tough, durable, satin-finish, alternatively the Ultra Raw will provide a matt-finish. Suitable for use on most interior wooden surfaces, including wooden floors, doors, kitchen worktops, cupboards, skirting boards, spindles and furniture.
Please Note: Fiddes also market and label this product as "Oak Lightening".
This product is better suited to lighter coloured timbers such as Pine, Oak, Beech etc. If used on dark exotic hardwoods such as Teak, Mahogany, Iroko or Ipe it could leave a milky, slightly white appearance to the timber.
Before opening the 5ml sample sachets, squeeze the packet several times to ensure that the oil and waxes inside are thoroughly mixed.
Ensure surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants prior to application of Hard Wax Oil Natural.
The video below demonstrates the application of the standard clear Hard Wax Oil. Although the application process will be the same for the 'Natural' version, the end result shown in this video shows the darker, slightly damp appearance of the standard clear oil.
Always do a test area before starting any project to check compatibility and suitability. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Stir thoroughly before and periodically during use. For the best results only apply at room temperatures.
Please Note: Over application will result in a 'white wash' finish and in the worst cases white swirls, brush marks and a sticky or tacky surface.
Please note: This product is not compatible with the Fiddes Floor Reviver Kit. Use of this on top of surfaces treated with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Natural will cause the finish to yellow.
For day to day cleaning, surfaces treated with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Natural can be dry wiped, swept or vacuumed.
To clean surface scuffs, marks and stains, use Fiddes Floor Surface Cleaner and a damp (not wet) microfibre cloth or mop.
Please Note: Although Fiddes Cleaner is named 'Floor Surface Cleaner' it can be used on any surface treated with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, including floors, furniture, table tops and kitchen worktops.Alternatively, Fiddes Wood Surface Cleaner Spray can be used on these other surfaces.
Oiled or waxed floors and surfaces should never be cleaned with steam cleaners or steam mops as they can damage or strip the finish and potentially damage the wood.
Scuffs, stains, marks and minor scratches can be quickly and easily repaired.
Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Natural (previously known as Oak Lightening) is formulated to keep the timber looking very much like its natural state without the usual darkening effect which is associated with using a clear oil.
The Ultra Raw Fiddes Hard Wax Oil formula dries to a matt sheen, whereas the Natural variation dries to a soft satin sheen.
