Fiddes Exterior High Build Wood Oil

Decided I wanted to try this as was recommended by a work colleague who uses it on his sheds. So bought a smaller tin of this and applied it to of all things, skirting boards. Skirting boards I hear you say, yeah! Why not, they are oak and although go inside the house, they still look good. I don’t suppose they will get wet (unless the radiator starts leaking, but who cares, I’m happy with the results, although to a while to dry (4-6 hours on the tin) or prefably overnight, but I wasn’t in a rush.

Easy to apply. Excellent coverage. Very pleased with the result.

Easy to apply and very effective. After a couple of weeks it has a strong glossy finish on previously oiled timber. It is however rather expensive.

Time will tell, but our row of garage doors (Douglas fir) are finally looking good. And that’s pleasing after years of struggling with other (very popular) oil finishes that haven’t lasted at all! I’m hoping that we’ve found a finish that I can recommend.

I used this on my oak front door and it really brought out the grain and quality of the wood. Very easy to put on, not at all sticky or 'cloggy'. Worth the money and I would definitely buy it again.

Only time and weather will tell if this product lives up to expectations, but on initial use it seems a good product.

Easy to use. Covers well and leaves a good surface which is easily wipeable.

One tin does not do the coverage stated or the amount of layers recommended and it is expensive, I would need 3 tins to get the right finish. @£60 a tin

Used on refurbished wooden driveway gates. 3 Coates. Fabulous finish. Sheds water. Obviously early days so just 4 stars. Hoping will require simple clean and recoiling each year.

Might be a little expensive but you are getting a first class product that won’t fade due to the UV properties. Will only use this on my shed, which now has its third coat.

Used it on a bench and table outside water runs off with no blackening of the wood gave a good seal.

Sightly disappointing to see heavy fading within 12 months where the sun has bleached, despite 3 coats.

Is a little expensive but you get what you pay for. Top quality, easy to apply and a good finish. Used it instead of painting my new shed, put on two coats ,will probably put a third one on later this year, Has rained a lot already and the shed still.looks great. Hope shed will will stay like this for many years.

This is the highest quality of this type of product I’ve worked with, would certainly use again. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Also, the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, giving good technical advice on this and comparable products.

We live in a house with lots of exposed woodwork including a new oak door and wood window cills. Exterior oil, applied each year, has been brilliant in preserving and rejuvenating the wood.

I needed a better solution to the regular maintenance of my exterior Idigbo windows from Danish oil. Wood finishes direct excellent help line suggested this product and I am delighted with the results . Easy to apply a good strong finish with rain just running off . To date after 6 months of rain and fierce sun the finish has not dimmed. Will be using this product from now on.
