Fiddes Clear Glaze

As above, one of the best satin glazes I have used. Good for finishing a variety of projects where a better than matt finish is required, but where gloss is just too much.

Gave a beautiful soft sheen to my wooden floor. Loved it!

Good stuff thin it with 25% white spirit and use a good brush and it should dry with no brush marks

Walnut worktops that needed revamp, sanded back to bare wood and 3 coats, superb finish, just need to get rid of the destroyer (wife)

I bought this product on the advice of the company who made my solid wood kitchen just to refurbish a few worn bits! It was very easy to use but I thought I could have removed a bit more of the original glaze. I contacted Customer Services and an exceptionally nice man rang me and gave me full instructions about the best way to do things - its looking very nice now - almost as good as new.

We've been using this product for many years. Ordering is straightforward and delivery good The product is easy to apply with little in the way of fumes. I treat our wooden worktops twice a year and the effect is always good. A light sanding and wipe down before applying gives a good result. It's also good on wooden chopping blocks/boards

I haven't used this as i prefer using osmo oil , But i am sure it will be fine for my use

Touch dry in about 30 minutes so no real problems with keeping it dust free. The coat shrinks and pulls back, removing application marks to leave a smooth satin finish

Sorry for giving feedback all most after one year of used. I liked the gloss finish in the kitchen and after a year it is still there. I do not see a much difference since it is applied. I recommend Fiddes gloss finish clear to everyone who is looking for quality not price.

I purchased Fiddes clear glaze to protect a workshop mitre station / storage drawer area of about 3 metres x 2.25 metres x 700 mm. It worked well and gave the protection I required. It dried overnight as long as ample ventilation was provided otherwise it tended to stay wet especially inside drawers. The second coat used far less than the first coat and covered more quickly. Overall it is a nice product and colours the wood slightly unlike water based varnish. Lastly it is good value considering the amount of wood it covered, and delivery from wood finishes direct was quick as usual, however the courier did not ring the door bell and just left it on the door step which seems to be the way couriers work these days of COVID excuses!

I have used Fiddes Clear Glaze ( it used to be called Plastic Glaze), for 40 years. It brings the natural colour of the wood out, gives a perfect finish and is very hardwearing. Apparently it was developed for bar tops. I would never use anything else

A little goes a long way and it leaves a lovely finish on your wood

Six months ago I used fiddes clear glaze gloss kitchen worktop and I am amazed by the results. I will definitely recommend and best part is water stays on top of wooden worktop without making any stains. Salil sharma

Fantastic Finnish. My oak worktops look like they have been bought looking like that.

This product - although expensive is very good - it said 3 coats on new softwood and that's correct - I will be buying more when my 9m x 4m log cabin arrives After using this product - I wouldn't bother with Cuprinol or Ronseal - and especially not water based products !

Wanted something to protect my new oak worktops. Did some research and came across the reviews for this product, so thought I would try it. I was not disappointed. I found this easy to apply, quick drying, and gives a nice finish (matt). It's only been a couple of months since using the product but I'm very impressed so far with how well it's performed. Will definitely use this again for any other wood projects I do.
