Overview
Ecopro Silicate Masonry Paint is a highly durable mineral paint that produces a water and weather-resistant barrier that also enables the building to "breathe".
It can be used on interior and exterior mineral surfaces, e.g. stone, masonry, concrete, pebble dash, plaster and sound silicate-based paint surfaces, and it's especially suitable for renovations.
Please Note: This product should not be applied over conventional 'plastic' masonry paints. Some clay surfaces may require special treatment.
Preparation
Surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, absorbent and free from dust, dirt, grease or any other surface contaminants.
- Remove all loose plaster
- Fill any gaps, cracks and holes with a suitable filler
- All coats of water-soluble distempers and lime paints must be removed or washed back to a sound surface
- All other surfaces should be washed down thoroughly
- Take care to mask all adjacent glass, metal and ceramic before use
- Prime surfaces with a suitable masonry primer where required
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to access product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
Do not use if the working temperature is below 8°C or expected to fall below 8°C within 24 hours of application.
- Stir the paint thoroughly before and periodically during application
- Apply Ecopro Silicate Masonry Paint with a brush, roller or suitable spray system in thin, even coats
- Apply 2 coats, allowing 6 - 12 hours between coats depending on environmental temperature & humidity
- The Ecopro Silicate System requires that the first coat of Masonry Paint be diluted with 10-20% Ecopro Silicate Primer
Cleaning Equipment
Wash tools after use in warm water.
