Dulux Trade Weathershield Maximum Exposure Smooth Masonry Paint is a high quality masonry paint for exterior walls. Its professional formulation provides up to 5 times more flexibility than conventional masonry paints (covering hairline cracks and preventing subsequent cracking or flaking) and is designed for use in harsh and demanding environments.
Suitable for application to bare and previously painted masonry surfaces, including solvent-based finishes. It is formulated for use on most sound and dry exterior masonry and rendering, including concrete, roughcast, pebble-dash and brickwork (rustic or sand faced bricks). Can also be used on coated Plastisol Coated Coil Cladding that is weathered (with no breakdown).
Please note: Common or fletton bricks should not be painted. Painting of parapet, free standing and retaining walls below ground level damp-proof course is inadvisable, as it may prevent moisture penetration and consequent failure of the painting coat.
To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry).
Surfaces that remain powdery, friable or chalky after thorough preparation should be sealed with a coat of Dulux Trade Weathershield Stabilising Primer. Note: Do not seal sound new or bare surfaces with stabilising primer.
Always do a test area before starting any project to test for compatibility and adhesion. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
This product is for brush, roller or airless spray application. Do not use in extreme temperatures (below 7°C), or during rain, fog or relative humidity above 80°C.
Note: The spreading rate of this product will vary considerably according to the roughness and porosity of the surface. On smooth surfaces of low porosity, such as rendering: 12-14m² per litre. On textured surfaces of low porosity, such as pebble-dash; 4-6m² per litre.
