Dulux Trade Quick Drying Clear Varnish

Dulux Trade Quick Dry Varnish is a versatile clear polyurethane varnish that can be used on bare wood and previously stained or varnished wood. Its rapid drying properties allow for projects to be completed more quickly than with a standard varnish.

For the best results, ensure surfaces to be varnished are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry) before treating. Take precautions during surface preparation of pre-1960s painted surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.

Previously Varnished Wood

1. Clean off any wax polish, grease or finger marks with white spirit or a dedicated wax and polish remover
2. Remove all defective or poorly adhering varnish
3. Rub down thoroughly along the grain of the wood to provide a 'key'
4. Use 'wet' methods where possible
5. Wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth or vacuum, to remove all traces of sanding dust

New or Bare Wood

1. New or bare surfaces must be rubbed down with a suitable grade of abrasive paper
2. Wipe off freshly sanded wood with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove all traces of sanding dust
3. If required, clean and degrease the surface by wiping over with Methylated Spirit

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. This product should not be spray applied. Do not apply at temperatures below 8°C.

1. Apply 2-3 coats with a good quality synthetic (nylon polyester) brush or microfibre roller
2. Spread evenly, taking care to avoid overlaps and finish along the grain
3. For best results, lightly sand the surface with a fine grade abrasive paper between coats, then wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth
4. Allow 2 hours to fully dry

Regular Cleaning

Surfaces treated with Dulux Trade Interior Quick Dry Varnish can be dry wiped with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly dampened, soft cloth.

Please Note: Never use large amounts of water, household detergents or harsh cleaning products as these can degrade or damage the finish.
