Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat

Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat is specifically designed to provide the best top coat finish when used in conjunction with Dulux Trade Quick Dry Gloss. It is also suitable for use as an undercoat for the products in the table below and can be used on all interior wood and metal.

For the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.

• Thoroughly rub down previously painted surfaces, using "wet flatting" methods where possible, then wipe off with a dampened lint-free cloth to remove all traces of sanding dust
• Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead
• Treat any knots in the wood with an appropriate knotting solution
• Any holes, gaps or other surface defects should be filled with an appropriate wood filler
• When applying water-based paints to surfaces previously decorated with a conventional solvent-based paint, very thorough surface preparation will be necessary

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

Do not apply at temperatures below 8°C, Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost. Thinning is not usually necessary, but if required add up to 1 part clean water to 20 parts undercoat.

1. Stir thoroughly before and periodically during use
2. Apply Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat by brush, roller or spray
3. For best results, use a good quality synthetic paint brush, designed for use with water-based paints, and lightly dampen both the brush and the wood surface before application to increase flow out
4. Apply 1 or 2 coats of Quick Dry Undercoat, as required, leaving 4 hours drying time between coats
5. To achieve greater coverage, or where surfaces are very porous, or a strong colour change is required, we recommend applying 2 coats of undercoat, followed by 2 coats a suitable top coat.

Please Note: Newly painted doors and windows should not be closed (tightly) until the paint is fully dry.

Once dry, Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat can be finished with a suitable top coat.
