Overview
Bona Vertical is an elastic 1 component saline modified construction adhesive can be used to bond between wooden surfaces or other surfaces. It is ideal for fixing hollow spots, skirting boards, floor repairs and wooden stairs. Extremely quick setting with a very high initial tack.
Suitable substrates are:
- Wood and wood materials
- Mineral materials such as stone, ceramic, natural stone
- Cement-based materials
- Calcium sulphate (anhydrite, gypsum) based floors / walls
- Cleaned metal surfaces
- Many plastics (PVC, rubber, PU, PS) Must not be used for bonding on or off PE and PP

Preparation
Ensure the project area is clean from any dust or debris and can provide a solid surface for the adhesive to cling to.
- Remove any loose debris and ensure the substrate can provide a solid surface
- If any oil an grease are present then remove this with a suitable detergent and rinse away any residue
- The area should be slightly abraded to provide a texture for Bona Vertical to adhere to
- Fill any gaps or cracks in the substrate with Bona Gap Master Filler
- A primer is not typically needed
Application
Always do a test area to ensure product performance and suitability. To achieve optimum results, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The adhesive itself must, if necessary, be bought to the right temperature before use, with the minimum working temperature being 5° C
- Apply Bona Vertical with a cartridge gun
- After opening the cartridge, slowly squeeze the trigger on the cartridge gun to initiate the flow from the nozzle
- Apply the adhesive directly to one of the substrates and then connect to the other part to bond both parts together and are pressed together for 10 minutes
- Depending on initial load, it may be necessary to fix the parts in place until setting has occurred
- After 8 - 12 hours it is possible to apply load or stress, depending on temperature and humidity conditions.
- If on the sub floor the applied adhesive has a skin, remove adhesive and re-apply
- If excess adhesive is exuded it should be carefully removed with a filler knife or other suitable tool
