Overview
Blanchon Protector is a metallised polish, compatible with all wood floor lacquers and can be used on laminate and plastic composite flooring. It dries to a crystal clear film with anti-slip qualities, allowing a very high quality of finish to be obtained. It also has an extremely fast cure time, enabling finished floors to be used within just 90 minutes.
A complex blend of wax and resins infills micro-scratches and forms a tough, durable wear layer that offers long-term protection. Blanchon Protector revives dull or worn looking floors, restoring them to their former appearance.
Use satin on floors with a gloss or satin varnish to restore the brightness and give a uniform finish. Use matt on over-glossy varnished floors to give a natural, matt finish.
Please note: It is recommended that a test area is done on pre-varnished wood floors with a high moisture content, such as beech.
Preparation
Floors to be treated should be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surfaces contaminants.
- Small stains and marks can be easily removed with Blanchon Cleaner Lisabril
- Rinse off twice with water, using a well wrung-out, lint-free cloth or mop (never a soaking wet one)
- This product should not be used on floors that have been varnished in the last 7 to 10 days. Allow 10 days for the original floor varnish to fully cure before applying
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Blanchon Protector should be applied when varnished floors start to show signs of wear and tear such as dull patches and minor surface scratches.
- Apply thinly with a damp, lint-free cotton cloth, microfibre mop or cloth
- Follow the direction of the wood grain
- Leave to dry for 1 hour between coats
- Allow to dry for 90 minutes after final coat before resuming foot traffic
Clean tools with water immediately after use. Do not re-use containers
Aftercare
Regular Cleaning
Floors can be regularly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and using a dampened, lint-free cloth or microfibre mop with Blanchon Cleaner Lisabril. Do not use household detergents or bleaches as these may degrade the finish.
