Bona SuperSport HD

Bona SuperSport HD is a two-component, water-borne, polyurethane finish for the surface treatment of wooden floors in sports halls, gyms, dance studios, multi purpose halls and other busy environments with wooden floors that require a high degree of protection.

Each 5 Litre container comes with a 200ml bottle of hardener.

Surfaces to be finished, must be pre-treated with Bona SuperSport Primer. This will ensure a smooth, uniform finish with the best possible adhesion to the substrate.

This product can be used for over-coating factory pre-finished and previously lacquered floors but satisfactory adhesion must be tested and secured prior to use. For the best results, always do a test area to assess suitability, following the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

1. Add 2% SuperSport Hardener to the lacquer and immediately shake the mixture thoroughly, for 1 minute
2. The mixture of lacquer / hardener should be used directly or at least within 5 hours of mixing
3. Apply Bona SuperSport HD with a microfibre roller or swivel head applicator, using a smooth flowing action and avoiding accumulation of the lacquer
4. Always maintain a wet edge to avoid overlaps
5. Allow to dry properly before applying further layers of lacquer or paint
6. Anticipate a slightly longer drying time for each layer that is applied
7. Ensure good ventilation during the drying process
8. If the previous layer of lacquer has been allowed more than 24 hours drying time, then an intermediate sanding is always required using a screen or scrad system of P150 grit or finer

Where a longer drying time is required due to high temperature and/or low humidity, Bona Retarder can be added to the varnish to increase the 'open time' of the product.

Floors will tolerate light foot traffic approximately 8 hours after the final application, however allow 72 hours drying before heavier use. The finished surface should be left for at least 1 week before covering with floor coverings or loading with heavy objects. Avoid damp mopping the floor during this time.

Regular Cleaning

For regular cleaning, to keep the surface in optimal condition, use Bona SuperSport Cleaner.

Deep Cleaning

For periodic or intensive cleaning, if the floor surface has become slippery, it is recommended to use Bona SuperSport Deep Clean.

Maintenance

To uphold a safe and professional looking surface, and to avoid having to sand back to bare wood again, the floor should be over-coated at regular intervals with additional coats of Bona SuperSport HD. The frequency of this operation depends on the level of wear but would typically be between every 1-3 years.

Bona SuperSport HD can be used for overcoating factory pre-finished and previously lacquered floors but preperation is key and adhesion must be tested.
